Culture Speak - a constructed language through appropriation of media-centric language and quotes referencing movies, songs, commercials, tv shows, jingles and the like that stand in for true conversation but also represent in nostalgic fashion the mannerisms of the group's past.  This speak becomes tribal and localized, esoteric and inaccessible, unless a new member understands the codified language.  It is geekspeak - subcultural yet elitist amongst cultural intellectuals.  This form of language itself becomes hyperreal - its original source is blurred beyond the referenced media, giving difficult, if not impossible, access to the original author of the quote who constructed the script or lyrics or jingle. Subsequently, the actors or performers who delivered the material is simultaneously 'in character' within their constructed persona, a staged and mediated personality that becomes the identity of the performer.  The appropriation then is a reference to an unreal event which subsumes the real, as the appropriator is also referencing the very real bond or nostalgic event that occurred with the referenced mediated event.  Or put another way, the reference is a constructed esoteric language appropriated from a constructed medium with constructed personas that deliver constructed scripts.
